When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir, Patrisse Cullors’ first book cowritten by asha bandele, is a poetic memoir and reflection on humanity. A New York Times Best Seller – necessary and timely, Patrisse’s story asks us to remember that protest in the interest of the most vulnerable comes from love. Leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement have been called terrorists, a threat to America. But in truth, they are loving women whose life experiences have led them to seek justice for those victimized by the powerful. In this meaningful, empowering account of survival, strength, and resilience, Patrisse Cullors and asha bandele seek to change the culture that declares innocent black life expendable.
SDAI will donate all proceeds from the sale of "When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir" to the non-profit Black Lives Matter organization.
Includes cost of shipping.
RAM is a new program of the San Diego Art Institute, launched in response to the impact of COVID-19 on creative industries.
As the only contemporary cultural institution in Balboa Park, the San Diego Art Institute (SDAI) nurtures the creation of groundbreaking art by providing a dedicated exhibition space for the artistic talent that resides in Southern California and Northern Baja to collaborate, exhibit, and thrive.
Through high quality, interactive programming, educational initiatives, and exhibitions, SDAI promotes cultural equity and artistic enrichment within our community and enables diverse audiences to interact with art and artists in meaningful ways.
RAM’s debut is made possible through a grant from U.S. Bank.
