Naturally dyed Raw Silk mask made from hand-dyed studio scraps. Colors include Golden (Pomegranate), Golden with Coral straps (Pomegranate and Loquat), Ice Blue (Lavender), and Dusty Purple (Avocado).
Wearing Raw Silk:
Silk is naturally hypoallergenic (the most hypoallergenic of all fabrics), and is completely non-toxic. This means that neither the production of silk nor the breakdown of the fiber release toxins into the environment, and the fiber contains no toxins in it's makeup making it totally safe to wear. Silk retains moisture without feeling damp, so it's able to efficiently cool skin in the summer. It has a natural elasticity, allowing it to stretch without breaking.
Washing: Iron or steam on "silk" setting to clean fibers. You can also machine wash and lay flat to dry to best maintain shape.
Due to the handmade nature of this item, slight variations may occur.
RAM is a new program of the San Diego Art Institute, launched in response to the impact of COVID-19 on creative industries.
As the only contemporary cultural institution in Balboa Park, the San Diego Art Institute (SDAI) nurtures the creation of groundbreaking art by providing a dedicated exhibition space for the artistic talent that resides in Southern California and Northern Baja to collaborate, exhibit, and thrive.
Through high quality, interactive programming, educational initiatives, and exhibitions, SDAI promotes cultural equity and artistic enrichment within our community and enables diverse audiences to interact with art and artists in meaningful ways.
RAM’s debut was made possible through a grant from U.S. Bank.
